The Free Cannabis Medicine Movement Mission Statement [Story]

The Free Cannabis Medicine Movement

My Motivation

In 2014, my father was dying from a genetic lung cancer; he was diagnosed terminal stage four. By early Spring his health was failing. His doctors were giving him weeks to live; he wasn’t ready to accept Hospice and I began taking care of him full time.

When he was diagnosed I implored him to try Cannabis; he was skeptical and opposed its use. As his symptoms became more severe he tried butter infused with the herb; he hated the flavor and did not get much relief.

I acquired him Rick Simpson Oil (RSO), which is a very high concentrate distilled from grain alcohol; it was combined with coconut oil and put into capsules. My father underwent a drastic transformation after his first dose; his symptoms rapidly decreased and for many disappeared entirely.

My father died early Fall that year; Cannabis gave him months, not weeks to live. His quality of life was greatly improved; he spent more time with his family and made peace with his passing.

I fully believe Cannabis is a profound medicine; amazing relief that I saw with my own eyes. While I was taking care of my father I met my partner; she too was suffering through an incurable illness. Her blood disease required continuous use of chemotherapy and her symptoms were severe.

Treatment with Cannabis gave back her quality of life and she was no longer forced to sleep through her symptoms; she was able to stop taking so many pills to just get through the day. My education, professional experience, and personal knowledge of Cannabis informed my actions to heal; it is time to make this a community effort.

My Mission

There are thousands of people with a myriad of conditions that are living through severe experiences like my father and partner; the majority of them do not have someone like me in their life. Many suffer needlessly and it is my mission to intervene with Cannabis.

This is a free Cannabis medicine movement; this is a community effort to not just help those we know, but the neighbors we don’t know, especially those who suffer alone. I am not selling a cure, I am not selling anything; I am offering my help, please consider joining me.

My focal point is Portland, Oregon. I am within the state statutes to provide this assistance; yet, we have a long road to expand these efforts.

My Goal

My ultimate goal is to convince our state government to pass legislation to allow for the creation of official nonprofit entities to faithfully pursue this mission. It is currently not permissible to form a tax exempt organization, which forces us to provide healing on a personal level. This needs to be a fully legitimate community effort to impact those in need.

Once nonprofit status is approved I will dedicate myself to an organization that heals others through Cannabis. In the mean time I will keep recruiting, networking, lobbying, planning and making medicine for those in need. Let us provide relief, let us heal.
