[Text] You're Going to Die

Just a shower thought that got me tripping and thought I'd share it here. I posted this in another subreddit yesterday and thought I'd try here too.

We never really zoom out and look at how quickly life will pass us by; we feel like we're going to be around forever (even though we know that logically we WILL die, we haven't actually embraced the fact.) It feels like yesterday I was 10, and now I'm 20. Time flies, and I feel it more than ever when I'm wasting my time on useless shit.

I was spending time with my grandmother and looking at all the old photos. She was young once too, and lived in the same 'moment' we see through our eyes right now, thinking life would seemingly just go on forever. She's 94 now and it just makes me think, you know? Am I living this one life to the fullest? In my opinion, it's a good source of motivation to ponder the shortness of time we actually have left.

Become great. Live well and break your self-imposed limits. Remember that one day you will look back on your life - make sure you make yourself proud. To live whilst conscious of death is powerful.

I wholeheartedly recommend reading up on philosophy - Stoicism in particular - to anybody interested in this subject and looking to build and harness their mental and spiritual strength.
