It's about 2:30AM at the time of writing this, and I have a midnight snacking habit. Normally, I get hungry around this time, so I went upstairs and thought about what I wanted to eat. I looked in the pantry and all the chips, all the pudding, all the candy, and holy shit was it tempting. I knew the first step to losing weight was altering your diet, so I started to resist.
I was very close to reaching for a bag of chips or two, while really thinking about what I was about to do, and I remembered a quote I read from a while ago;
When motivating runs out, discipline must take it's place.
So I started talking to myself, saying "back away, get away from it, don't give in, you're so close to change."
I then began to back away from the pantry saying "adda boy, good, go to the fridge, there's tasty fruit in there".
I went over to the fridge, picked out the strawberries, and ate them, without craving shit food after.
If I can do it, you can too. Discipline is stronger than motivation. And you'll always have discipline in you, just in case you run out of motivation.
