5 years back I quit my job to start a business with some friends and it did not work out inspite of back-breaking effort. I sunk into the worst depression of my life.
In the months that followed I kept trying to motivate myself and started to realize something - I was very good with and enthusiastic about Accounting in our now closed business (only studied basic accounting as part of degree before this). I noticed that even intelligent folks were inept at it, and its a blind spot for more entrepreneurs than I'd have imagined.
In 2016 I started helping small businesses with their accounting and business systems. The first client was a friendly vendor from the failed business.
Its been going well. I have 3 employees, high work satisfaction, and am earning more than in the job I had before.
So we never know how even failure can help us succeed later...
Best of luck to everyone :)
