[Text] My 7 steps to goal setting.

  1. Have a peer group - Have at least 3 people you talk to FREQUENTLY, who are where you want to be, or are heading the same direction you want… and communicate with them multiple times per day, to create momentum and accountability.

  2. Create the Conditions and Infrastructure in your life that make the results you want inevitable - Just setup the conditions that will FORCE you to succeed no matter what. For example, if you are trying to lose weight… Find a trainer now, book the times, arrange the calendar to make those times a priority… and tell a friend you will PAY them $100 every time you miss a session. Yup, let’s see how often you’ll miss your appointment then 😊

  3. Make it PUBLIC - That’s right… Announce it to the world. Post it on your Facebook or tell your friends about it. The FEAR OF PUBLIC failure will be an extra added motivation to just get it done.

  4. Have a powerful FUTURE VISION of yourself - It’s important to KNOW how you would look like if you achieved your goals. So really picture it. Have it IN YOUR FACE frequently. If you have to put posters, and images on your wall, then do it. Make it a background in your phone, your computer, put reminders in the mirror. Just put the FUTURE in front of you multiple times daily. Make it top of mind.

  5. Set a Deadline - If you’re like me, and URGENCY really helps you, then set a deadline. Set a hard, REAL deadline, and announce it to the world as well, or some friends. Treat it as if YOU CAN’T miss the deadline… and don’t. If you set goals, make sure to have weekly goals, daily goals, and even HOURLY goals. Whatever metric or goal you pay attention to and measure frequently is just bound to improve.

  6. Commit to your family - Yes, make a promise to the people who are near and dear to your heart. If you want to make more money… go to your wife or husband, ask them for the car they want, GO TO THE DEALERSHIP and test drive the car with them… have them ride in it, and pick out the color and everything… and at the end of that all, let them know the date you’ll be getting it for them. Make that promise, and the HUSTLE as hard as you can to make it happen.

  7. Reward yourself, Celebrate, and Immediately RAISE THE BAR - Don’t forget to celebrate the wins, and progresses daily. Just do it. After you do it, then raise the bar even higher, keep improving the standard, and keep your EYES on the goal.

So go ahead and figure out what works for you... Make a list, put it in your pocket so you can see it daily, and write it on a piece of paper and tape it to your wall and bathroom mirror as well... And make a commitment to use all of the steps in YOUR guide on a daily basis.

Hope this helps… Try it out for 15 days, and watch your results and productivity go through the roof!
