[Story] I reread life experiences of mine when I feel lazy or I think I'm too tired to stay motivated.

I noticed that most of us have met / seen some really encouraging people who despite everything are happy, work hard and try giving their best. I recently told my boss about an inspiring person I happened to meet and he told me about his experience at a home for the terminally ill (energetic children, lively grandfathers. You visit the home again after 6 months and you won't find the people that you met last time). He also told me about his friend's family (all of them are deaf and dumb) but they visit every gathering they are called to and bring along with them a drawing to express their wishes. With almost every person I share a story they have something to share. It's surprising that nobody writes them down. I consider them precious and I take note of them. When I'm down I read about it. It always strikes me that I'm way luckier than most of them and I get the realisation that it's kind of an obligation to make the best of my circumstances.

A few years ago I wrote about my experience of being a scribe for a visually challenged student (he had the ambition to become an English teacher) on Quora. I'm sure if you've had a similar experience you can relate to my write up. You can read it here - My experience of being a scribe.

I often resort to reading this story and I find it to be an extremely effective way to motivate myself.

Bottom Line:- Have a set of real life experiences that motivate you. I personally prefer real life experiences as they seem more believable and you can instantly connect. I meticulously record inspiring incidents that I get to witness in person. Don't trust your memory. In the coming years you are bound to forget quite a lot of worthy moments. Don't let them vanish, use them to motivate others / yourself.

Even a few bullet points about an incident are enough. I store my experiences on Evernote. I normally express the incident within a paragraph of 5 - 6 lines. You can have a blow by blow account of the incident if you like. It's totally your choice.

P.S:- I have no intentions of promoting my write up. It's rather long and contains pictures. It therefore is tedious to duplicate the write up here. If the link to my write up needs to be removed, let me know.
