[Discussion] 6 months ago, I took a semester off to figure myself out. Today, I'm in school and I'm kicking ass and taking names.

This could be lengthy, so sorry in advance.

This post may help nobody, it may help a few. I have no idea what to expect. But these are some of the changes I made in my life that have got me from being a 1.5 GPA student to having a 4.0 so far in my classes. I'm acing all of my tests with ease. And I'm confident I'll finish my semester with a 4.0. For the first time in my life.

Let me preface this post by saying--

If YOU genuinely want to get shit done, this will help you. You can say that you want to change and become productive, but only YOU know in your heart whether or not you mean it.

For 22 years, I said I wanted to be better. But I never meant it.

Now I mean it. It's up to you to decide whether or not you mean it.

When you're ready for the change, take a look at this post. It could help you.

Onto some content!

So how can you go from not knowing what to do or how to do it, to suddenly dominating every task that comes your way? Good question.

  • Get organized.

What does this mean? Clean your life up, in every aspect. Clean up your health (eat your freaking veggies), get rid of negative people, clean your room, and be a positive person.

This is my room. Now, I know what you're thinking. "Your room makes you like you're a crack addict." or "You have nothing in there."

Both true. I look like a crack addict, and I have nothing in there. But you know what? I don't really give a fuck, to be honest. It's my work space. It's clean, and tidy. There are no distractions in there. There is NOTHING in there that can stop me from getting my work done. No messes, no hours wasted on Netflix, and nothing to use as an excuse for why my shit didn't get finished. I simply DO it. If I have a task in front of me, I don't wait for it. I get it done the first possible minute I can.

Once I'm finished with my work, I can fuck around and do whatever. But until then, it's my "get shit done" area.

  • Set goals for yourself.

WRITE THEM DOWN. Write down as much as you need to. Things you need done that day, grocery lists, ideas, and goals. Get familiar with writing things down. It makes your ideas more permanent and more likely to achieve them. Here is an example from my notebook.

  • Be overconfident in yourself.

Overconfident? Absolutely. That doesn't mean be cocky, or arrogant. Stay humble. But think highly of yourself. "Never underestimate a man who overestimates himself." -Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Think about it. Donald Trump was the laughing stock of the election last year. Love him or hate him, the man achieves his goals. Don't ever let someone tell you that you can't do something. And watch out for the guy that says that he can do it. Whatever "it" may be. If you overestimate yourself, you're going to do your 100% best to make your goals happen. Even if it's just to prove others wrong.

All in all, be so great that others can't deny what you've done.

Next

  • Do NOT procrastinate

This is an obvious one. But it's a big one. You're going to have to suffer either on the front end of an assignment, or the back end. The suffering is inevitable. It's better to just get it done on the front end. This will cut down on the stress in your life drastically. You'll finish things well before deadlines, you'll have more free time, and you'll be moving forward with your progress.

Lastly

  • Every day, ask yourself the following question, "Did I do anything today that helped me achieve my goals?" Or "Did I do anything today that helped me move forward in my life?"

Not every day can be an efficient one, but it's important to limit the inefficient ones. Make sure that you've always got your end goal in mind.

I don't sit around studying ~30 hours per week because I enjoy it. I do it because it's moving me towards my end goal. I want my goals. And I'm going to do what needs to be done to achieve them.

Like I said at the beginning, YOU have to want to change. Nobody else can want it for you. When you're ready to change, you'll know. It will click in your head.
